about THE ARTIST

Hi! I'm Akshita and I like all things art and design.

Currently based in Chennai, India, my yen for art led me halfway across the world to San Francisco to learn illustration from the brilliant professors at the Academy of Art University. The various places I've lived in (Muscat, Chennai, Goa, San Francisco) and the travel bug I love to follow influence my work and my sketchbook immensely. Happiest when I've my nose in a book (sketchbook, novel or otherwise), I translate that joy into my work.

I have worked with a variety of clients from different industries, from publishing and advertising to animation and environmental design. My latest stint as a designer at an environmental graphics studio has taught me to translate concepts to a larger scale, designing murals and 3D installations using a variety of materials. My background in Animation allows me to visualize motion and design assets and stories told through animation. Every client adds a little something to my experience and I truly believe a happy client results in the best creative output!
